What is UX? Or How We’re Learning to Build the Right Thing, The Right Way
In my spare time at ThoughtWorks I’ve been refining a deck that I’ve presented a few times now that attempted to explain what UX is, using the metaphor of building a house.
In this version I was presenting to a technical audience so I added some discussions about the practical UX techniques and activities to explain how we work.
It also builds on the ‘slogan’ that has taken some traction at ThoughtWorks – Building the Right Thing, the Right Way.
i.e. Agile is the right way to build something, and a sound UX practice means that you building the right thing.
True to my roots, it’s done with post-its notes. Originally I did present the actual post-it notes on flip charts, but alas I had to digitise it eventually for portability reasons.
